Myrtha Pools is proud to sponsor the Special Olympics France competition on April 1 and 2, 2023, at Nautipolis Centre Aquatique. Special Olympics France aims to develop self-esteem, inclusion and social sharing through sports for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. The annual meeting at Sophia-Antipolis centre celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2023 and is part of a tradition of solidarity that brings together 150 athletes with intellectual disabilities together with their coaches, families and supporters.
This year a team of athletes from Aole, an Italian association that develop projects for sport and inclusion for young with intellectual disabilities, will participate in the swimming competition with athletes ranging from 9 to 37 years of age. Aole is a non-profit organization that uses participation in national and international swimming competitions as a development tactic for its athletes. For Aole, the aquatic environment serves as an educational tool which generates great mental and physical benefits, including personal growth and self-confidence. That is why Myrtha has been supporting the Aole project since 2022 and is pleased, on this occasion as one of the event sponsors, to be able to reward these Special Olympics swimmers with a medal.
