Factory of Water

Stettin, Poland

Factory of Water is a multifunctional thematic complex where water is the central and polarizing element. The center is divided into two main areas: an educational area focused on water and a recreational, mainly aquatic area. The two areas of the complex, designed by the TKHOLDING firm Truszczyński & Kobierzewski, are implemented using gamification processes with the objective of increasing visitor engagement through educational and stimulating activities.

The recreational part consists mainly of water attractions, except for a dedicated bowling and climbing area. In this particular area, Myrtha has undertaken a significant amount of work, constructing as many as 15 swimming pools. The issue of accessibility is of paramount importance; indeed, the facility has been equipped with electric lifts to ensure access for individuals with disabilities.

The water zone is subdivided into multiple indoor sections, including a wellness area, a relaxation and pool bar area, a main hall, and a competition area. Additionally, the outdoor area encompasses a play pool and a pool with thermal covers that can be accessed from within the building. The wellness section comprises a sauna and a swimming pool area, which includes an impressive above-ground rooftop pool.

The relaxation and pool bar area comprises two pools. One has been equipped with infinity loungers and an immersive projector that recreates relaxing environments. The other pool is built around the bar area and is usable directly from stools installed in the water.

The Main Hall area is the most articulated, comprising numerous free-form pools that have been harmoniously arranged in an interplay of different spaces, shapes, and heights. The combination of recreational and restorative elements is exemplified by the incorporation of aquatic facilities equipped with a range of therapeutic and recreational features. These include the use of gyrating, cervical, and whirlpool jets, as well as the incorporation of playful accessories such as volleyball and climbing nets.

In the competition area, Myrtha has installed a 25m swimming pool equipped with a movable floor, suitable for the performance of numerous sports practices.

The center, opened in 2024, will serve as a national and international landmark, with the objective of attracting visitors from neighboring countries.
