To be successful in our market, Myrtha Pools has to excel in design, sales, customer service, manufacturing, logistics, project management and more. And, while we are proud of our records in all those areas, we recognize that at our core we are a manufacturer and it’s our prowess in engineering and technology that has made us world leaders.
Our engineered, modular-stainless-steel-panel-laminated-with-a-tough-durable-layer-of-PVC-system is the heart of a product that has revolutionized the aquatics industry. The competitions and gold medal performances that have followed, the fun and play that have erupted, the wellness, fitness and relaxation that have evolved… are all the result of a commitment to engineer the finest pools possible.
The information that follows looks at the long list of Myrtha Pools technologies and advantages found in our Competition, Leisure, Hospitality and RenovAction projects.

In Technical Terms...
We think our pools are the world’s best. Here are some engineering reasons why.
Any project’s environmental impact is critically important – particularly in countries requiring LEED certification or those with aggressive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions standards.
Myrtha Pools is working with ACOR Consultants in Sydney, Australia on an ongoing analysis and comparison of pool construction methods and their impact on the environment. The data has already shown, that a 50 x 25 m Myrtha pool reduces GHG emissions by as much as 45% in comparison to a traditional tiled-concrete pool and by more than 30% compared to a welded stainless project.
In addiction the company has enabled the mapping of Myrtha Pools, according to the international LEED V4 standard, in order to highlight the characteristics of their processes and products. This action has been taken to identify how they can specifically contribute to sustainability goals of Investments in the construction sector and to develop a matrix of specific credit they can contribute toward satisfying under specific scheme of green building certification.
To create a pool that is lighter, stronger, faster (and funfilled), engineered stainless steel is the number one contender. For our modular panels, a high-chromium version of stainless steel delivers not only a great strength profile but is also highly resistant to chemicals and corrosion – obviously all key considerations for a long-lasting swimming pool.
On the inside of the pool, for protection, a durable layer of PVC is hot-rolled on to the stainless-steel surface. On the back panel, a protective coating is applied so that our product can prevail in even the most hostile environments.
In our system, the concrete foundation and floor of the pool can be thinner and incorporate less reinforcement than in a traditional pool. The wall structure sits on a curb perimeter in which the stainless-steel panels are fixed using buttresses and robust chemical anchors. The result is an extremely resistant, self-supporting pool that is anchored to the cement curb but structurally independent from the floor.
The approximately 3,000,000 kg of water in an Olympic pool creates significant pressure that is able to find and exploit even the tiniest of weaknesses or openings. All of Myrtha’s Technologies are protected with the most effective PVC waterproofing. A combination of mechanical and chemical processes guarantees permanent protection from leaks. The entire wall assembly, from the overflow channels to the pool bottom are waterproofed using a system of flanges and gaskets reinforced by PVC welding. The bottom of the pool employs a unique reinforced membrane, with double or triple the PVC thickness of typical products available in today’s market.
Our market-leading waterproofing process outperforms other pool-build systems: pools using welded stainless-steel connections are subject to corrosion and weakness around every weld; concrete pools, exposed to normal ground movement over time can erode and/or develop cracks that lead to the inevitable corrosion of the internal structure. Our laminated steel system is engineered to last. (And last.)
Because our stainless-steel panels are laminated with a rigid PVC membrane, an enormous range of design finishes can be easily applied. Unlike typical stainless-steel pool construction, the full spectrum of tiles, mosaics, natural stone and glass finishes appropriate for pool environments can be used in Myrtha Pools projects.
Additionally, our engineered modular panels and overflow channels are fabricated during the production phase with special recesses for tiles, mosaics or other finishes. This solution makes installing the finishes more precise and assures uniformity between panels.
In comparison to either concrete or welded stainless-steel pools, Myrtha Pools efficient, flexible installation process guarantees significant construction time advantages. Reducing build and installation time creates compelling labour, energy and insurance cost savings. Installation efficiency is among the top features appreciated by our clients.
Based on almost 6 decades of building and installing some of the world’s most impressive pools, we can say with authority that no two projects are ever the same.
The choice of pool construction techniques can have a profound effect on the overall construction project. Myrtha Pools modular approach can be suitably adapted to almost any environmental conditions, building type or location.
Concrete pools can be adversely affected by high groundwater or even micromovements in the surrounding land allowing cracks and seepage to develop. Myrtha Pools modular, laminated stainless-steel system avoids these concerns and many others. Our light, strong, resistant pools can be easily adapted to thrive in the toughest meteorological, geological and architectural environments!
Pool costs are affected by many factors from pool dimensions and depth, to type of filtration systems; from design complexity to finishes and accessories, and to installation process requirements.
Lifetime costs are now an important consideration when building pools. Myrtha understands the ongoing maintenance, repair costs, refinishing and refurbishment costs (often associated with concrete pools), as we work to be sure that our customers will tell others that they have made an optimal investment!
The Myrtha Pools system also leads to additional savings in many ways:
The modular system more easily integrates with the overall building plan
Our lighter solution may require less fortification to the surrounding building
Can be constructed in small places without excessive demolition
Can be built in hard to access areas
Quicker install can reduce labour and insurance costs
Myrtha Pools choice of materials, including stainless-steel walls and the durable PVC membrane applied to pool floors, ensures lower maintenance costs and extended pool life. In our pools, every surface above water level is protected with tiles, mosaics, glass or other finishes so, despite its tremendous UV tolerance, the PVC laminate underneath is never directly exposed sunlight, ensuring a long-lasting, trouble-free facility.
