Research & Innovation
A commitment to research has defined Myrtha Pools and helped us develop our industry-leading approach to pool development. In addition to our modular system, two essential initiatives have resulted from our pursuit of innovation.

Pool Hygiene & Sanitation
In collaboration with the University of Rome, Myrtha Pools has undertaken a materials study to understand the effect on pool hygiene of the different materials used in pool construction.
From the analysis conducted, it was determined that the rigid white PVC laminates used in Myrtha Pools are more resistant to the formation of biofilm than traditional systems including both concrete with tile and grout surface, and welded stainless-steel pools.
Computational Fluid Dynamics
Our CFD research in collaboration with the University of Brescia allows us to model and optimize pool water circulation, before the pool is designed, to ensure the highest circulation performance and without any negative impact on swimmers. CFD is particularly helpful in the development of free-form pools or pools of a complex shape where unexpected stagnation points can be discovered and averted.
Split-in-Two Movable Bulkhead
In order to meet the needs of the multi-purpose sports facilities, Myrtha Thecnical Department developed the “Split-in-Two” Movable Bulkhead. FINA approved, this special bulkheads allows the facility to turn the pool into a multipurpose aquatic area where it can perform different activities at the same time, either training or leisure.
In fact, the Split-in-Two Movable Bulkhead can be split in two halves, giving the pool the chance to have more configurations than what is possible with the usual bulkheads: 10 – 50m lanes, 20 – 25m lanes or 15 lanes total of 10 – 25m length, and 5 – 50m length.
