Aquatic Centre YMCA of Bucyrus-Tiffin
Myrtha Pools offered modernity and innovation to the aquatic centre YMCA of Bucyrus-Tiffin, playing an important role in the double project of refurbishment and new construction of the pools that for many years have contributed to the healthy lifestyle and mental well-being of the community of Tiffin (USA).
The update was needed after the original pool, installed in 1974, was starting to have water leaks. The complex refurbishment work was successfully completed within just eight months thanks to Myrtha Renovaction‘s technological innovation. This flexible technology can often be carried out without any significant demolition, reducing time and costs.
The Myrtha project for the Tiffin center did not aim only to solve the problems related to the original pools (an L-shaped competition pool and a secondary leisure pool) but changed also the layout of the pools to maximize the available space.
In particular, the competition pool is now a practical rectangular pool that is more compact and accessible. The direction of the course has been reversed to offer more space to the leisure area, which has been transformed from the existing small body of water into a new three-lane 22-meter pool with an entry ramp. To complete the project, the competition pool was equipped with 6 Myrtha Spectrum Hybrid Blocks, to help athletes improve their aquatic performance.
The project was carried out by the general contractor Clouse Construction, the aquatic consultant Aquatic Design Partners and the Myrtha distributor Omni Pools & Scapes.
