Cesca Vas pool complex

Novo Mesto, Slovenia

In a remarkable display of synergy, Enota Architects, in partnership with Myrtha Southeast Europe and local distributor Histi d.o.o., has brought forth a visionary aquatic centre project in collaboration with the Slovenian Swimming Federation. This exciting venture is set to redefine both aquatic leisure and competitive swimming in the region as it features a 25-meter swimming pool along with an instructional pool.

Nestled next to the pre-existing cycling velodrome, this indoor swimming centre utilizes the site’s sloping terrain, presenting itself as an elegantly suspended feature above the landscape and standing as a testament to the commitment of developing world-class sports infrastructure. Beyond its compliance with the rigorous standards required for swimming competitions and top athlete training, it also serves as a beacon for the growth and development of swimming in the region.

The brainchild of Enota Architects, this groundbreaking project has garnered significant recognition in the architectural world, winning both the prestigious Plan Award in 2021 and the coveted Architizer A+ Award in 2022. Such accolades underscore the innovative and forward-thinking approach that underpins the design and execution of this aquatic centre.

Enota Architects’ choice to employ Myrtha’s stainless steel modular technology for the pools proves pivotal to the project’s success. In the words of Enota Architects, “We chose the stainless-steel modular technology from Myrtha pools because we wanted to create a pool that will be easy to construct as well as maintain in the long run. It allows us to have complete control of the manufacture of the pool off-site and make sure it is designed and built to perfect standards!

The aquatic centre’s place in the national training network for athletics, cycling, and triathlon makes it a key spot for sports citizens and athletes. Its modern facilities and smart design show a commitment to improving sports in the local area.
