Gwangju 2019, 18th FINA World Championships

July 2019.
The FINA World Championships is the high-water-mark of aquatics competitions. Featuring top athletes from around the world, records, rivalries and international standings was challenged in Swimming, Diving, Artistic Swimming, Open Water Swimming and Water Polo. This year 2019, the beautiful city of Gwangju, South Korea was home to the 2-week event and Myrtha Pools was there for every exciting moment.

Having created a top competitive swimming venue for the 2015 Universiade, also hosted in Gwangju, Myrtha was again chosen, this time to provide 5 new temporary tanks for the aquatics world’s premier competition.

 

Built within existing stadium spaces, these temporary pools can manage large World Championships crowds by taking advantage of existing seating capacity of the venues. Post competition the pools are easily removed without damage to existing facilities. Myrtha’s legendary precision ensures all FINA requirements are met with millimetre accuracy, ensuring athletes from each sport can compete at the highest levels.

 

Two weeks, thousands of fans, hundreds of athletes plus 5 temporary and 1 permanent top technology Myrtha Pools  made for an exceptional two weeks of competition in Gwangju!
