Keilor East Leisure Centre
Opened in late 2021, Melbourne’s exciting Keilor East Leisure Centre is among the city’s most modern and well-outfitted sports facilities. This Australian swimming and fitness centre, designed and developed by Myrtha Pools, includes four Myrtha-technology swimming pools. Users of the complex are able to train, play, and enjoy a wide range of sporting activities, with a focus on water sports but also including a full training gym and spin studio. The centre’s focus on physical and mental wellbeing, along with its amazing top-level facilities, creates a welcoming and accessible fitness destination for all to enjoy.
Throughout the project development, accessibility was an integral component of the facility’s design. All pools in the centre are equipped with Myrtha ramps built on an underlying steel structure, which allows easy, comfortable access for people with mobility difficulties. And Myrtha’s non-slip pool floors improve safety for all.
On the facility grounds, outdoors, visitors are treated to a Myrtha 50-metre competition-level pool, that is heated and ready for year-round use. To prevent heat loss on cool nights, the pool is equipped with an energy-saving pool cover. Inside the facility, leisure swimmers as well as those interested in lessons and aquatic fun, are treated to an indoor aquatics area that includes a Myrtha 25-metre pool (perfect for learn-to-swim), and a leisure pool equipped with hydromassage benches. Also, a shallow depth pool offers the youngest kids a safe area for lessons and getting comfortable and confident in the water.
The four pools in the exceptional Keilor East Leisure Centre have all been built using Myrtha Pools’ patented RenovAction technology. The engineered, stainless-steel system ensured the pools could be built and open to the community in short order. And with its strong, stainless-steel walls, a long life and reliability is guaranteed.
