SWELL Palmerston
To meet the growing needs of the Palmerston community in North Australia, a state-of-the-art sports facility ‘SWELL‘ was recently constructed. This facility embodies the essence of swimming, wellness, and recreation, reflecting a focus on innovative urban development and community well-being.
From now until 2026, the facilities will be made available to the public free of charge. The objective is to encourage the community to use a safe and accessible place to swim, in order to significantly reduce the risk of drowning.
This goal perfectly aligns with the values of Myrtha Pools, the company behind the historic pool makeover in the Australian town and the construction of two new community pools: one for children and one for relaxation. A valuable project made possible by the help of distributor Hydrilla.
Using Myrtha and Myrtha Renovaction technologies to ensure long-term durability and reliability, the work was carried out quickly and non-invasively, bringing to life a new facility in just 16 months.
The RenovAction technology has enabled significant cost and time savings in resurfacing this project by avoiding the need for a total demolition of the existing structure.
The innovation has ensured that the citizens of Palmerston have top notch finishes that provide structural safety and simplified management of the facility on a day-to-day basis. The laminated steel panels provide perfect waterproofing and remarkable resistance to UV rays and chemicals, allowing for a streamlining of maintenance.
As Palmerston enters a future of growth and innovation, SWELL is positioned as a model for community development, offering a framework for others to emulate. With its doors now open, it invites the community to explore a world of aquatic adventure, wellness, and leisure, setting a new standard for urban recreational spaces in Northern Australia.
