The Centre (Slough)

Slough, UK

Just outside London, in the city of Slough, an extraordinary new community sports centre has sprung to life. Designed by GT3 Architects to both fit in and stand out in its industrial surroundings, “The Centre (Slough)” includes a huge training gym, a versatile 4-court sports hall, and two new Myrtha technology pools.

The Centre is run by the UK’s Everyone Active group who work with Swim England to promote sport and wellbeing in communities throughout the country. Myrtha pools was chosen to help The Centre offer top quality aquatic facilities to the Slough community.

The facility’s new 25m, 8-lane Myrtha Pool is perfect for lane swimming, competition, aquafit, family fun, swimming lessons and a host of aquatic activities. A smaller learn-to-swim pool has been equipped with a moveable floor, adjustable to suit the needs of young swimmers.

With a hoist for accessibility, stands along one side for parent viewing, poolside sauna for relaxation after a good swim, and a host of thoughtful amenities, The Centre will be an aquatic hub in the community for years to come.
