The Mladost Swimming Complex in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, is a clear example of how cooperation between institutions, designers and technology providers can strengthen sporting opportunities in a region.
Before the new complex was built, local residents relied on an ageing 25-meter Soviet-era concrete pool that no longer met modern training or competition standards. Myrtha Pools worked with the general contractor GBS, committed to adopting modular stainless steel technology, to deliver a 50-meter Olympic-standard swimming pool that now represents an important asset for the community. The pool complies with international requirements and is designed to support training programmes, competitions and educational activities.
To ensure these standards, the installation includes several key features: Myrtha movable headwalls, Myrtha Track Start starting blocks, designed to provide stability, comfort and speed through inclined platforms with adjustable track starts and integrated rear steps, and a Myrtha movable bulkhead that allows multiple configurations based on the needs of the aquatic centre.

Through its modular stainless-steel technology, Myrtha Pools ensures precise construction, long-term durability and significantly lower maintenance compared to traditional building methods, improving safety and sustainability over time. Thanks to this project, Plovdiv now benefits from a modern aquatic facility capable of supporting competitive training and broader community use, and, above all, a place where future generations can grow, learn and aim for new sporting ambitions.
