Myrtha Pools and the new Virtual Trainer System
The Myrtha Pools Virtual Trainer is an innovative, patented, wireless system developed in collaboration with Aqvatech Engineering. The Virtual Trainer monitors swimmers' performance during training. The system controls an LED strip that runs along the entire length of the pool and is protected from water by a sheath.
The strip can be placed on either the pool floor or the water surface, along the floating lane line.
At the start of a training session, the strip receives programmed impulses that switch on the LED lights progressively, according to a pre-established time and number of laps.
The athlete uses the constant light flow as a point of reference and can easily check whether their rhythm is in line with the programme, or if they are going too slowly or too quickly. The response time is less than half a second, and the LED intensity provides perfect visibility in any lighting conditions.
The system can be programmed wirelessly using a remote control, a laptop (included in the Virtual Trainer supply) or a smartphone. Any programme or training rhythm can be stored and sent to the LED circuit, including those at different speeds.
The Virtual Trainer contains several preinstalled training programmes. Additional programmes that are personalised to the swimmer's physical features or goals can be stored manually on a laptop or smartphone via the available applications. Programming can also be done online via a laptop or smartphone.
The LED strip is waterproof and has been tested at up to 25 bar pressure in a hyperbaric chamber.
The system can be powered by electricity or batteries, which last for more than five hours.
Different LED strip lengths are available for 25- and 50-metre swimming pools. Different lengths are available on request.
