University of Pittsburgh

As part of the University of Pittsburgh’s new 25,000-square-metre Recreation and Wellness Center, Myrtha Pools has delivered and installed an elevated, NCAA-compliant 25-yard pool located across the 4th and 5th floors.

Myrtha’s precision-engineered stainless steel and modular construction ensured the structural reliability required for an installation of this scale. The pool is multipurpose, offering five swimming lanes and a leisure zone equipped with Myrtha Soft Floor and an anti-slip membrane in the shallow area. With bench seating, an accessible ramp and the benefits of Myrtha White, the installation ensures excellent water clarity and high hygienic performance. Alongside the main pool, Myrtha constructed a dedicated mosaic-finished spa pool with hydromassage, providing a warm and relaxing complement to the training environment.

This project supports Pitt’s wider approach to student wellbeing by integrating fitness, mental health and recreation within a single multi-level destination. Delivered in collaboration with partners such as Moody Nolan, IKM, Counsilman-Hunsaker, Barton Marlow, Mascaro and DWR Aquatics, the new facility reflects both modern campus expectations and Myrtha’s long-standing focus on technical excellence.

The new aquatic facility stands as a strong example of innovative design, engineering quality and a vision for healthier student communities.
