Only appropriate for a town named Waterville, Myrtha Pools has completed work on an old â but now new! â community aquatic centre.
Myrthaâs RenovAction team was contracted to rethink and revitalize the 68-year-old Kiwanis pool which has now been transformed into the recently opened, Alfond Municipal Pool Complex.
Myrthaâs RenovAction technology made it possible to retrofit a new tank into the old facility, quickly and with minimal demolition. Our proprietary renovation process utilizes our patented, modular, stainless-steel panel system.
In Waterville this meant that an aging, and failing pool, was not only returned to âlike-newâ condition but also upgraded in many ways! The new 6-lane, 25 m pool is now connected to a leisure area where Myrthaâs âZero Entry" offers beach-like access and is populated with interactive water games for kids, and a relaxation area for adults.
âTo call it a renovation doesnât do it justice... itâs a new facility,â said Waterville Director of Public Works and Recreation Matt Skehan. âAll the equipment, the filtration system, the pumps, the liner, the shade structure, the kiddie pool, itâs all new.â
The facility is now home to a menagerie of âlittle squirts animalsâ, a spray pool, a slide pool, two kiddie pools and a whole community of very happy swimmers and splashers. Honestly, if the town wasnât already called Waterville, weâd have had to rename it.
